Welcome to Spiti Helena, Pano Xorio 843 00 in Agios Arsenios, Naxos. There was a small ruin on this spot. With the renovation we have managed to guarantee the characteristic appearance of the house, but with all the modern requirements of today. The house is located 12 minutes from the center of Chora (Naxos town) with several supermarkets, shops, restaurants, bars, clubs, banks and a number of pharmacies. The wonderful beaches such as “Agia Anna, Agios Prokopios and Plaka Beach” are also not far away. We hope you enjoy your stay in Spiti Helena. Information & house rules

Water: Tap water is potable, but we recommend that you use bottled water. Also for cooking purposes.

Electricity: Electricity in Greece is expensive. Also for environmental reasons, please do not leave lights and equipment on unnecessarily.

Smoking: It is not allowed to smoke in the villa.

Pets: Pets are not allowed.

Sanitary: The sanitary discharge on Naxos is smaller than in Northern European countries. We kindly request that you do not flush toilet paper, sanitary pads, baby wipes or similar items, but put them in the rubbish bin.

Marble floor: Marble is sensitive to acid (such as lemon) and grease (such as cooking oil). Do you want to clean the floors with a new stain immediately with a cloth, water and a little soapy water?

Parking: There is a private parking space at the house and there are also free parking spaces around the house.

Garbage: About 150 meters from the house, on the left side of the road and just before the main road, there are large garbage containers on the road where you can dump your garbage. S.v.p. do not leave garbage bags outside because of the cats and vermin.

Security: When leaving the house, please close the windows and doors. When closing the hatches, always close the left hatch first and then the right hatch. When opening the hatches, first open the right hatch and then the left hatch.

Safety

First aid kit: In the top drawer of the white cabinet near the stairs.

Fire blanket: In the top drawer under the microwave.

Fire extinguisher: On the ground floor next to the office and on the first floor next to the white canbinet near the stairs.

Flashlight: Power cuts sometimes occur on Naxos. On the first floor in the top box of the cupboard near the stairs is an electric flashlight in case of an emergency.

Interim cleaning:
For stays of more than a week, the house will be cleaned in the meantime. This is a light cleaning of the bedroom and bathroom(s) and a change of bed linen and towels. Our hostess Gerda will take care of this around 12 noon on the agreed day. Gerda has a key so you don’t have to stay at home for this either. Gerda is fluent in Dutch, English and Greek.

Departure:

Upon departure, we request that you do the following:

• Collection of the beds;
• Put the linen together in a heap;
• Deposit waste bags in the relevant disposal location;;
• Please leave the refrigerator and freezer empty (unopened packages or cannisters may remain for next guests);
• Wind up the awning (or sunshade). This is because of the possible sudden strong wind.
